The World Network Concept
Inspired by the recent hard history of Dubrovnik and Croatia, we have initiated the development of a unique virtual creation – The World Network™ in which all visitors are invited to participate and make their contribution.
With this creation we wish to show that respecting differences is deeply rooted in all of us and that peace and tolerance are a prerequisite for a better future of the world.
World Network on Stradun
We have started with the World Network concept on 9 May 2010, on European Day when we, together with Dubrovnik's primary school children, spread out accross the whole Stradun street in Dubrovnik a 292-meters long and 5-meters wide World Network on Stradun made of canvas and ropes with four peace messages. It was painted by the children from 11 primary schools from Zagreb and Dubrovnik, and the images of Dubrovnik painted in peace circled all around the world.
Although we have started with the World Network concept in its physical form, we continue to spread the network in its virtual form and we invite you to make your contribution and create your part of the network.
With the photo of your palm and the selected messages for a better future of the world, each visitor of Visia Dubrovnik creates his/her own part of the World Network that gathers all the pieces in one virtual space and shows that peace can be realized after all.
Therefore, come and visit us and become a herald of peace yourself, and after your visit, go online and see your message for the better future of the world from Dubrovnik and share it as zour own personal a postcard from Dubrovnik!
